Realtime Reporting

Realtime benefits:

  • Instantaneous voice-to-text translation
  • Immediate read-back of questions and answers
  • Substantiation of exact verbiage used
  • Quality of court reporter is readily apparent
  • Interactive ability to mark passages
  • Listing of marked areas for quick follow-up

PRI can send to the litigation support software of your choice to your computer OR the PRI court reporter can provide a laptop.

All PRI reporters attend the deposition or hearing with their own laptop with realtime.  This allows the PRI reporter to:

  • Immediately read back questions/answers
  • Make edits and corrections during testimony
  • Input proper names and technical terminology
  • Provide a quality rough draft at the end of the deposition

PRI reporters can provide you with an additional laptop that allows you:

  • Immediate review of the question or answer
  • Ability to scroll back through prior testimony
  • Searching capabilities for words or phrases
  • Annotation of key passages for follow-up

What you need on YOUR laptop if you bring your own:

  • Realtime viewing software, such as LiveNote, Summation, CaseView.
These programs are robust litigation support programs that provide not only realtime viewing capability but also provide case management support, etc.

For realtime browsing and rough draft purposes only, PRI can provide you with the Advantage Software Bridge program at no cost.

Hardware:

For many years, realtime has required a 9-pin serial port, and the reporter is hard-wired to each computer receiving realtime.

If you have a serial port and prefer hard-wired realtime, PRI reporters can connect to your serial port.

PRI can also provide wireless realtime, thus eliminating the spider web of wires and eliminating the need for a serial port.

Wireless realtime uses only a USB port.  However, you must have a driver that will accept the realtime feed.

PRI can load the driver at the outset of the deposition, if you have administrator privilege to load the driver; or, the StenoCast Ez USB (6 mb) driver can be downloaded and installed by your IT office.

For a free pretest and demonstration of wired or wireless realtime, call our offices at 800.229.0675 or e-mail us at pri@priohio.com.

Realtime Rough Drafts

Save your client expedited fees! A rough draft can be provided during or immediately after a deposition; a cleaned up rough draft can be e-mailed two hours after the completion of the deposition.

The benefit of a PRI realtime court reporter is that you can receive a rough draft that is “clean.”  Our realtime reporters not only use theories that enhance realtime productivity, but they also make edits and corrections during the testimony to ensure a rough draft that is useful.  If you have received rough drafts previously that were too rough to use, give PRI a call.  Realtime really is our focus.
