ABOUT US
Professional Reporters, Inc. (PRI) is an independent, woman-owned company combining well-established business principles with modern litigation support and computer technology.
PRI began in 1980 serving the Columbus, Ohio legal community with technologically advanced services. In the early 1980s we were carrying our “portable” 60-pound workstations to depositions to provide onsite daily copy in trials and depositions. Today the reporter arrives at every deposition with a 3- to 8-pound notebook computer to provide realtime and often will have another smaller computer for attorney viewing of realtime translation during the deposition.
Still based in Columbus, Ohio, our reporters are often found in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and even Spain and Norway. Many clients see that the superior quality of service they receive from a PRI realtime reporter merits that reporter traveling with the team in many complex litigation cases.
Known as a premier realtime firm, PRI was requested in 1990 to provide the first full-time realtime captioning on TV in Ohio for WCMH-4.
Utilizing the realtime skills for depositions combined with the skills and experience gained from realtime captioning, PRI was the first in Ohio to provide CART (Computerized Access Realtime Translation) for a deaf student at Columbus State Community College in 1992. PRI has continues to provide this service for Disability Services in colleges throughout Ohio, including The Ohio State University, Franklin University, Capital Law School and Ohio Dominican. Drawing on their technical expertise, PRI has also provided remote CART services for students at Ohio University in Athens and the University of Toledo.
PRI has a dedicated team of long-term employee reporters who take pride in the work they do for PRI. The office staff includes employees who have worked at the company for over 20 years.
PRI is full service. Call, and we will answer the telephone (not an outside answering service). Request a specific reporter, we will make every effort possible to honor that request. Also feel free to schedule your deposition in one of our free conference rooms in our downtown offices (free parking). Conduct your next video conference utilizing our high-definition 42” LCD monitors and high-definition Polycom equipment, including document and computer presentation on a second 42” monitor.
